The author gives an overview of the process of strategy development, cooperation with international organizations (such as the UN, WWF, etc.), and existing programs on conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity in the Russian Arctic. The author also stresses that one of the most interesting projects today is ECORA which includes governance and regulations, protection of indigenous peoples, ecological preservation and control over natural resource development etc.
