Ecosystem-based management (EBM)

EBM is an integrative and holistic approach to management based on the idea of systems in contrast to the traditional procedure of managing sectoral activities like fishing, shipping, or oil and gas development. This approach is intended not only to draw attention to linkages among the various components of complex systems but also to consider the non-linear dynamics of socioecological systems.
