Offshore ban rejected as Senate panel says no reason to halt drilling

There is no reason to ban drilling in Canadian waters despite the devastating oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, a Senate committee looking into the possibility of a similar disaster here reported from Ottawa Wednesday.
